These new smart fuel systems help you save big on gas by regulating fuel pressure. They supply high pressure on acceleration when the engine needs the extra gas and reduce the pressure when the vehicle is idle and needs less. What makes this system so ‘smart’ is the feedback system that relays the exact fuel system pressure back to the system control which either increases or decreases the fuel pump output based on the vehicle’s current operating condition.
